Just imagine walking along a wooded trail that followed a creek/river. Now imagine that trail elevated such that tree tops are considerably below you. Imagine looking off to one side of the trail and realizing what a spectacular view would have been possible except for the shrubs and trees which partially blocked the view. Finally, imagine turning a corner on the trail and seeing a lookout platform which was offering an uninterrupted view of the area far below:
Holy yikes, Colin. Bet that caught everyone’s attention ASAP. Great story though. 😉

It certainly got our attention asap! Just glad that we all survived the ordeal 🙂

OMD, Ray. What were you thinking? Although that does remind me of the time up at Rock City, many years ago, when I jumped from the sidewalk over a small rock wall and, instead of landing on the grass, ended up in a freezing pool of water! Yes, what were we thinking?

Hi Lexi. Indeed, what were we thinking. I guess… we weren’t thinking, and that can be hazardous to our health! BOL! Ray.

OMG that’s so scary. Poor Ray!! Thank goodness you didn’t let go

Hi Layla. It was so scary. Thank goodness he was wearing a harness otherwise he could have suffocated on his collar… or slipped out of it (with the same end result).

Oh, what a shock that must have been for all the three of you. Poor Ray and you two were great in being so attentive. His action must have come completely surprising!

Ray produced a few really stressful moments in his early times with us. This was certainly a “heart in mouth” moment because our initial thought was to let him go and we would find our own way down to him. Then I looked over the rail and concluded that if he was to live through this, we would have to somehow get him back onto the wooden platform as there was little chance of him surviving the fall.

You must have been shaking for a while after the incident!

I don’t recall actually shaking, but certainly was feeling the after effects. I still recall just standing there after Ray had got back safely, just trying to mentally process what had just happened. )

I think that moment is engraved in your memory!

There are a few “Ray moments” that are engraved… and they are all in his book! 🙂
