Christmas cards are starting to arrive here and, while I think it a bit early for such things, a vote would probably find me outnumbered so here’s our Christmas Card to you… from our home to yours.
We wish you all the very best, and regardless of whether you see it as a Christian celebration or simply a holiday, have a wonderful time.
Don’t get caught up in the gift buying ideas that the stores are encouraging but rather, just determine what is practical and within your financial limits. I cannot imagine having an enjoyable holiday period while dreading the January credit card bill. It makes no sense whatsoever.
As for the new year? Resolutions set to start January 1 may have some value but, if something is that important to you to do, then perhaps it should be important enough to start now rather than procrastinate through the Christmas period. Just a thought!
We are experiencing an increase in distracted driver (texting while driving) accidents which often result in a fatality. We are also seeing an increase in driving while intoxicated incidents. Please party responsibly over this holiday period. This will not only contribute to your safety , but will help others to have an equally safe and enjoyable time.
Finally, please don’t forget Ray’s book “Who Said I was up for Adoption?” for those animal lovers on your gift list! 🙂
Happy ‘Howlidays” to you and yours! 🎄

Thanks Colin for the happy Christmas wishes and thoughts. As for new year’s resolutions I made one many many years ago and have kept to it: that was to never make new year’s resolutions. 😁 Take care.

Thank you Ann. By “today’s standards” our house is very small, but it is home… and what more could anybody ask for than to live happily in their home! 🙂

Glad you liked the “card”! It is a lovely little cottage to come home to on a cold February evening! 🙂

Thank you for this beautiful post, Colin! Yes, if there is a resolution for the new year – why waiting when we mean it?

I’m starting my 365 acts of kindness 1.1.17, but am making a list of ideas now. It’s kind of like starting it early.
Oh, and we got the book for my birthday – didn’t have to wait for Christmas.

Good for you. Keep us all posted re your acts of kindness. An idea which you may not have thought about is to go to a local children`s play area and throw a handful of coins around. Can you remember what it was like, as a child, to find money! I am glad that you have got the book, and I trust that you will enjoy reading it. From other reader`s experiences, you may want to have easy access to Kleenex… just in case! 🙂

Thank you for your card and Christmas wishes Colin 🙂 It may just be the only card I receive before Christmas, as the International post basically stops in Jo’burg and only arrives in CT next February! (I posted all my overseas cards mid-November.)
And though it may be early, I wish you and your family a very Happy Christmas, from Little Monkey and me. 🙂

Thanks Di. Our home is about as deep (front to back) as your boat! We just have some additional width!

Ha!!. The cottage had frontage of 41 feet or thereabouts, and our smallest bedroom was 7 feet 9 inches wide, so wider than the boat!
