He is a strong “boy”, and has lots of energy….. and still has an attitude, but we wouldn’t want him any other way! 🙂

Given the assumptions made about his background, I cannot imagine that he had any concept of curling up in a comfy chair, or stretching out on a sofa or bed!

I cannot imagine that either. I also wonder if he ever thinks about his former life…and go “wow…what a difference!”

I understand that dogs live “in the moment”, so he probably does not reflect back however, so many of his issues are a result of past experiences so he is certainly capable of remembering negative events.

That was his big problem! People kept wanting to touch him, at a time when his social skills were non-existent.

It amazes me when people see my dog, which is a good looker, and want to immediately pet him. Yesterday when I was walking these 2 men parked their car, and in my opinion immediately started approaching too fast. I immediately made Yule sit and as they passed they said “nice looking dog”. I just smiled and said thank you and praised Yule for getting in his sit position. A dog’s good looks can sometimes get them in trouble.

That is such a problem but it’s not the poor dog’s fault is it. It’s just the human ego (“All dog’s love me!”), or ignorance (“I just have to touch him.”). I am sure that a lot of men and women would also agree that good looks can be a burden!

The difference is that he has “filled out”, and his coat is now wonderfully soft and thick. What you cannot see of course is the change from being very apprehensive around people, to being openly affectionate to those he knows well, and sociable with everybody else!
