Animals in general (well at least based on cats and dogs) have some interesting sleeping positions, and Ray has entertained us many times with his “collection”. This is a new one however, and one can only guess as to what the appeal was!
Did he see something on the carpet, perhaps a tiny morsel of something potentially edible, and went to sleep thinking about it? Perhaps there is some security in wedging his nose between his front legs? If dogs could talk!
If it were summertime, I’d suggest he was melting. Very cute pose in any event.

What a cute picture! Although I think he looks a little depressed in that position (even though I’m sure he’s not!)

Sometimes he does “go off somewhere” with his thoughts, but he always comes back with energy and a happy wagging tail. 🙂

Oh yes! My friend’s dog Cypher is an aspiring acrobat or just really cheeky 🙂 There is no spot too small or too odd for that guy.

They are always entertaining us aren’t they? 🙂

Hahaha that is such a cute sleeping position! I think your theory about how he saw something on the carpet and fell asleep thinking fits in best. I so want to know what thoughts were going on his mind right before he fell asleep. Sleep is so fascinating, no?

It is fascinating, particularly with an animal because you are never going to find out what they are thinking. The best we can do is speculate. 🙂

Hi Lorelle – Welcome to my Blog. I seem to be building up quite a following from Australia… and yes, they really are characters aren’t they! 🙂

Lena fits perfectly in my (I mean her) glider chair. We relax in the living room, keeping an eye on each other, and if one gets up, the chair is up for grabs for the other one.

I can relate to that as our two-seater sofa is often everybody’s preferred place. Ray can stretch out on it and basically fill it. 🙂

I could see that in one of the delightful photos you share.

You need to get Ray his own agent. He could put out a book, “The Many Poses of King Ray, Top Model for Dogs!” 🙂
