The elephant? How did that get into the Santa story?
Yup… Ray and I were both a little mystified, and a little amused, by this addition to the story of Santa. It does however pose a number of questions:
What happened to Rudolph and the gang?
Why was the sleigh no longer deemed necessary?
Can that container on the elephant’s back really hold all the presents?
Can elephants really travel fast enough to circumnavigate our planet?
Do we want an elephant landing on our rooftops?
So many questions! How are we all supposed to get to sleep on Christmas Eve with these issues on our minds?
Silly, elephants can fly. I saw one fly on a Sunday night on TV. Mom made toasted tuna sandwiches and tomato soup and we all sat in front of the set and watched a cute little elephant fly. And they do grow big enough to haul Santa and the presents so if the reindeer need a year off, why not?

With vague memories of Dumbo, I cannot argue your points…. and perhaps the deer do need a break! 🙂

Cute photo of you two! Where was it taken?

The house is on a Ray walk route. We have no idea who the home owners are, but assumed that they wouldn’t mind us having a photo op! 🙂

Maybe the elephant is just for places that don’t need sleighs or even know what they are, and don’t have roofs with chimneys. I bet that bag never gets empty!

And to you too Erika, and may all your dreams for 2018 come true. Let’s keep spreading healthy and productive life messages, and bring mutual acceptance of each other around the world just a little bit closer.

I’m personally most worried about the elephant on the roof – and the volume of what he might leave behind, even if the roof survives!

Yes… that may not be a pretty sight! 🙂

You and Ray just had a lucky escape. A few inches to the right and you would both have been squashed.

Ah… but a quick stab from a Ray claw and it would been a real let down for the elephant! 🙂

Nicely done Ray.

Purrhaps the traditional have deflated like last year’s inflatable Christmas dinosaur?
(Does that dog look like he’s thinking, “Just let the leash drop and I’ll show that blowhard who the Big Dog of this house is”?

With his Rotti brain wired up to a Shepherd body, who knows what he is thinking? 🙂

I’m trying to imagine an elephant in the chimney 🐘 Looks like the two of you are having fun.

Yes! That elephant and an average chimney do pose a rather obvious problem. Ray’s happy because he knows that if he just goes along with our weird ways, he is likely to get treats! I am happy because it makes no sense to me to be unhappy. 🙂

That is so true. Happiness is a sensible state of mind.

It works well for me. Sometimes it takes more effort than at other times, but it is always worth it in the end. 🙂

Oh my! Yes, now the questions are swirling in my brain, no sleep for me Christmas Eve! 🙂
There is another question too. What could the next fun.Christmas picture of you and Ray be? There has been a.Minion and now an Elephant…couldn’t guess what could come after an Elephant!
