Our Ray (Charles)!

In November, 2012, Ray was reported to our local humane society by farm owners, because he had been seen regularly hanging around their farm. He was subsequently picked up, and taken back to our local shelter. He had no collar, no tags, and a scan did not locate a microchip … so what to call him?

One of the shelter staff had the opportunity to name him, and given that they were going through a naming convention of musicians at that time, he decided that “Ray” would be a very appropriate name!

Our initial thought, after it was clear that I had been adopted by him (Isn’t it supposed to work the other way around?), was to think of a suitable name for him! We wanted to make it easy on him, so we contemplated pretty much any name that had the “ay” sound in it … and ended up wondering what we were doing. Look at him! He is a Ray! Look at the pic! What other name could he carry so convincingly?

More information on Ray, and how we all survived a rather turbulent first 18 months together, is documented in “Who Said I was up for Adoption?”, available in eBook, paperback and hard cover formats. For more information, click on book cover in column on right.

    • Ray is very good with the camera however, if you are up to date with the Posts about him, you will have read that we are currently weaning him off his anxiety meds … so who knows what personality traits will soon be surfacing!
