“Stairway to Heaven”

Introduction:  This song was selected about a week ago but, given the history of this week for me, it seemed perhaps a questionable choice. However, I decided that a stairway to heaven is appropriate and, more importantly, this is the most uplifting version of this song that I have ever heard. The end  result …. the original Post stays.

This is such an exciting Post for me, because I am not a great Led Zeppelin fan. However, I really don’t think that anybody would argue against “Stairway to Heaven” being considered classic rock … and then there are Ann and Nancy Wilson (Heart).

The link below is (to me) an incredibly moving arrangement of “Stairway to Heaven” with Ann and Nancy Wilson taking charge.  Led Zeppelin are in the audience and are, quite naturally, following every note in this performance. I found it interesting to watch Jimmy Page as he “monitors” the lead guitar solo.

If you are anything like me, you will be totally exhilarated, and exhausted, at the end! Enjoy.

  1. This is such a fantastic performance, I’m glad you posted it. It was great to see Page and Jones really get into the performance. You can see in the video the performance made Robert Plant and Jason Bonham (playing drums) pretty emotional.

  2. Wow and double Wow!! That’s a performance and a half! Led Zepelin seems to be genuinely enjoying Heart’s rendition. Thanks for sharing. Your posts have opened ME up to groups I’ve never listened to!
