Rick Wakeman was, I believe, trained as a classical pianist … but decided to change direction and explore the popular music field. He came to my attention when on keyboards with Yes, and impressed me even more when he made his solo recordings. He can go from lovingly melodic to frustratingly challenging but he is, without doubt, a very accomplished composer and musician.
The video below is a medley of his compositions, and while he is clearly demonstrating fast fingering, it does give a brief look into his versatility.
Really enjoyed this piano piece!

So glad you enjoyed. I have a really beautifully sensitive piano piece for this Saturday! If you are an emotional person, have some Kleenex close by! 🙂

A delightful piano solo! I could easily sit through a concert of his piano solos.
Brad of course knew who he was right away, when I said his name to him. He said that its easy to see why “Yes” wanted him as their keyboardist! 🙂

Hubby was always a Rick Wakeman fan. Wish my fingers could move that fast (they never have by the way!) He loved this!

From what I recall from various comments in the past, I suspect that your hubby and I could spend an intersting day just listening to, and discussing, music! Say “Hi” to him for me! 🙂
