Last year, I spent two weeks on our West Coast (Vancouver area) … being my annual visit to see my son and daughter. Last year was a little different in that it was also an opportunity to meet Blogger Carolyn (joyroses13.wordpress.com) and her family!
During that time, we spent a day on Granville Island where there are always various street entertainers, including musicians. In one particular area, was Scott Jacobs. I liked his voice and material so much that I bought two copies of the CD he was promoting. One was given to Carolyn and the other simply a treat for me! One of my favourite tracks is this one. Enjoy.
Song lyrics provided after Publishing Post by Carolyn of joyroses13.wordpress.com
So here we are, and one more day and the year is gone. and I’ll wonder where this all will lead.
And its been a long while, but I am feeling quite the same way; feel like a boat lost at sea.
And I know this road is long and that someday you would leave our home, and I know that you would never lie to me.
But now you’re going, well it all feels like a dream. Oh, now you’re going, with the breeze.
But no matter where it takes you; no matter who or what you start to see; just don’t forget about me!
** ***** **
So now you’re headed out, you are flying high above our town. You’re soaring high above the sea.
But when your legs touch down, and gravity screams its sound, you will stand a thousand miles away.
And I will wonder where you will be and how you’ll live and what you’ll see. And I’ll wonder if you’ll stay the same.
But what’s the use in all this wishing and wondering, cause wishing never changed a thing.
So, go where you like, and don’t look back. Just go. No matter where they take you, no matter who or what you start to see, just don’t forget about me.
** ***** **
So now your out of touch. We’re out of reach, you’re out of luck. And we’re out of any words to say.
But I swear that I will never lose this memory in my mind. And I swear that this will never change.
So, make this promise to me. That no matter where they take you. No matter who or what you start to see.
Just don’t forget about me. Just don’t forget about me. Just don’t forget about me.
I remember seeing the pictures Joy posted 😁… very thought provoking lyrics.

I still smile at how well he integrated into our home. For those who say “Yes but you guys put so much work into him”, I reply “Yes … but without his cooperation it would have served little purpose.”

It does work both ways IMO. Maggie has us right where she wants us, but then we encouraged her!

Awh! I saw the title and thought, “I know that song!” LOL!
What a nice surprise to wake up to on a rainy morning. Just like it was a nice surprise when you handed me the CD!
He does have a great voice and we have enjoyed the CD, as it brings back memories of beautiful Vancouver and being with wonderful friends. 🙂

His voice sounds pleasant and smooth to me. And I liked the music and harmony. Had a hard time understanding the words, but that’s common with musicians. Either I need a hearing aid, or most musicians could benefit from a speech articulation class.

Unfortunately I could not find the lyrics anywhere … yes, I agree with you.

Many thanks. I was all over Google trying to find them, but I guess I missed an obvious source perhaps?

Haha! Oooh yeah! Did you figure out where I got it from?
And I do think I may need to quote those words of yours sometime down the road as a reminder to you and Tippy. 🙂

Thanks Carolyn. So, a tune about leaving and loneliness. Someone should write a counter-tune, perhaps entitled, “There are plenty of fish in the sea.”

It is that song and voice you stop, listen, and get enchanted. I made a similar experience twice in Santa Monica. I could not stop listening to those artists and bought their CDs too. Unfortunately, I haven’t found yet videos to share their music.

Can you upload them to YouTube? At least we can get to hear them. 🙂

Actually I could simply post them as an audio… so what! Will do that!

Wonderful if you can, but I believe I was blocked so had to create a video … which was a background pic plus the audio! Looking forward to hearing them. 🙂
