We are very fortunate to have a covered front porch, so we can sit outside and be sheltered from the sun. We take advantage of that at every opportunity, particularly at lunch time, and Ray has no problem joining us and stretching out on his mat … unless we just emptied a yogurt container, in which case his job is to clean it out before we recycle it!
Ray has always amazed me at how much dexterity he has if food is involved and, despite the limitations of his paws, he can quickly stabilize the container for as long as is necessary!
Nice work Ray, and great show of creativity!
Ruby loves that job too and even cleans the small pots too 💜

We limit Ray’s licking to items that are not going to be re-used. Just cannot come to terms with all the places his tongue goes, and then giving him a surface which we would also use. We just don’t trust that the dishwashing process is 100% foolproof.

We are the same, yoghurt pots licked then recycled 💜

Clearly, he takes his job seriously! We also have a covered porch and have been using it a lot this Spring and Summer.

They (covered porches) are worth their weight in gold eh! (As are dogs like Ray) 🙂

I’m really good at it. It is spotless when it goes into the recycling bin! Woof!

You’re better than a pre-wash cycle on a dishwasher!

Ray does have determination! He wants to leave it spic and span!
Nice to have a covered porch. We love sitting on our back patio but it can get really hot if the sun is beating down.

Because we are in a heavily treed area, even our back garden is quite sheltered however, we prefer the front as we get to see/greet/chat with people passing by!

Maggie still, hasn’t mastered using her feet, but she does wedge the lickable object either under the sofa or radiator!

Oh we do Erika. We will be back into a deep freeze soon enough, so must take every opportunity to enjoy these hot days! 🙂

That’s exactly what I am thinking too. I am not complaining about the heat or humidity. I am actually trying to charge as much of it as possible… lol

He looks like a diligent worker. Who needs a dishwasher when you have a dog like Ray?

We don’t have a dishwasher and, sadly, Ray cannot reach our kitchen sink.

Just give him a stepstool! 🙂

Nah! I know where his tongue has been, so wouldn’t want him doing the dishes. 🙂

How funny!!! Our dogs do this with dog food and tuna cans. We also let them “pre-clean” pans, plates, and bowls before they go in the dishwasher. They are good helpers. 🙂
