A classical classic!

This is rather different from my usual Saturday musical offerings (as is the timing! I am running a little late today.)

I know that a number of you really appreciate classical music, and I also know that some of you are indifferent to it. This piece was selected for all of you because of what is beautifully presented in the middle.

For those of you who are already deciding not to play it …. just hold on for a minute, because after hitting “play”, and in just over a minute (1:30), I think you will be pleased with what you hear. In fact I am almost certain that you will recognize what you hear. It’s pretty incredible that a piece of music written in 1834, can be the melody for a song written over 80 years later … and is still recorded and played today! Enjoy!

  1. I am still amazed by what composers like Chopin, Mozart, Haydn, Puccini,…. were able to create. They only had a piece of paper and noted down huge compositions which they already heard in all details (thinking of Beethoven as one of the best examples). Real geniuses.
