gave me so much listening pleasure as the lead singer of the Australian group The Seekers but, sadly, she has passed on. “It’s Hard to Leave” was apparently written many years ago, and in the context of her leaving her family and friends in order to go on tour with the band. This was a new song to me which I recently came across by accident … but what an accident! Enjoy.

Oh, my, this is so touching. The song itself is already beautiful and goes deep with her strong voice and that vibrato. But listening and knowing she passed away makes it so much more moving. Thank you for sharing, Colin.

It is very moving. I am listening to some of her songs right now and realized that I know quite a lot of hers and The Seekers. I was just not familiar with the name.

Yes The Seekers had so many “hits” across the UK and Europe (and to a lesser degree the US).

The Seekers were very popular around the world (50 million record sales per Wiki ) in the 1960s. Perhaps you will recognize the song below, but just did not know the name of the lead singer? Note this video has well over 30m views. They were/are popular.

That song sounds familiar. I think they were playing it a lot on the oldies stations about the time I was born.
