“The Mission” (Gabriel’s Oboe)

A lovely piece to just lose yourself in. Forget COVID. Forget the world in general. Here is a brief escape. Come back refreshed and knowing that the world can still be a beautiful place! Enjoy!

The oboe, played well, is so powerful and so effective with expressing emotion. Are you familiar with the music of Les Miserables? The oboe is used only sparingly, but when you do hear it, it is most beautiful and perfect for expressing the emotion of the scene.

Cannot disagree with anything you wrote! I love the whole Les Miserables production; I do love the tones of the oboe …. and I also like the tones of a well played clarinet. What do you think of the way it comes into the song here (from an earlier Post):

Just watched it/listened to it. That is a very impressive sound from 5 voices, but I do prefer the impact of a drum kit, heavy keyboard and electric guitar! Thanks for the thought though as it is always interesting to hear alternative versions. 🙂
