To quote from Tolkein’s “Lord of the Rings” –
“I wish it need not have happened in my time.”‘ said Frodo.
“So do I,” said Gandalf, “and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.”
“So do I,” said Gandalf, “and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.”
A rather philosophical quote given our current times … and then there is the plea for help from a house just around the corner to us!

To quote a Bob Dylan song “The Times They Are A Changing”, and to add a Bachman-Turner Overdrive (BTO) song “You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet” ! Keep smiling! š
A well-placed quote.

And yet, I actually find it hopeful, because even though this time might be hard, others have survived hard times and done well in spite of it all. š

Indeed they have. History provides details of many events that produced national/international hardships, but our existence today is evidence that many people survived such history. Keep smiling. Stay positive. š

I loved that driveway!! Have a feeling we’ll be seeing more messages like that in the upcoming weeks. I refuse to say months, that is just too darned depressing for words.

As “months” is a possibility, we could use the time to hone our skills at fighting depression perhaps? Look on the bright side … if we can think about fighting depression, we are at least alive! If we can still smile … if we can still Blog … if we can still enjoy our animal friends … if we ….. (the list is endless) ! š

I don’t see how any society can survive for months in a lock down. If we do that, it will turn out that all those people who hoarded toilet paper had the right idea, because the supply chain will be well and truly broken, for all essentials, including food and medicine. So I’m sticking to weeks in my mind!

Well I don’t know where you live Ann but, around here, supplies are slowly recovering from the irresponsible buying. If this pandemic goes on for months, then those that hoarded won’t need to shop again for a while. Like you, I am also hoping that a few weeks will see the end but, unlike you, I am interpreting the daily WHO reports such that months is the more likely timing and for that, I am now mentally prepared. I figure that if my parents and grandparents can live through the mass killings and bombings of two world wars, I should be able to manage a few months of hardship. It’s all perspective really isn’t it.

Oh, I get that and totally agree, we can and have endured hardships before. I’m just talking about the fact that if we stay in lock-down for months, the businesses that produce our supplies will go bankrupt and stop producing them, and then the shortages will be very, very real. And even more people will die. So that’s why I’m hoping that when the WHO says this will be months, they mean globally, and not that it will take months before people can leave their houses. Because that will kill even more people than the virus. Still, no one knows what is coming, and all we can do is hope for the best and be as tolerant and patient as we can. Stay safe, Colin!

Awesome quote and the chalk drawing brought a smile. Yup, gotta just keep smiling, for I don’t think frowning is going to help stop the virus at all, so “it is what it is” right? š

It is so good to see those kinds of comments isn’t it. It “lightens” the moment!

So, are these the end times or the beginning times?
I hope you’re able to avoid the virus, given your age. And hopefully soon this will pass.

These are the beginning of the end times. After this is over, with the world potentially being in a total shambles, it will be the time for a fresh start with very different perspectives. It will probably go down in history as the year the human species woke up! š

Okay, then I guess this could be called Year Zero.

We have years “BC” and years “AD” … so why not “AGC” (After the Great Catastrophe)?

That would work. Or maybe “AC”, for After Corona.

Or even ACDC – After Corona Devastated Countries?

ACDC? Maybe we can make a rock opera out of this.

There’s a creative thought! We just have to survive COVID-19 first … and then who knows! š

Alright. I’ll duck and cover, and you can twist and weave. Together we’ll avoid this virus and see the other side.

Your husband likes that band? Well, hells bells, that makes me wonder, just who made who? It kind of shakes my foundations and sinks my pink. Now I’ll have to ride on and chase the ace.

SMILING is the answer!
We are praying for God’s protection over you and yours.
I am learning to teach on line; it is very hard, but I guess a 5 hr. tutorial on line CAN teach on old dog/professor new tricks. LOL
