I was surprised and delighted to see that you revisited 1962 with this particular choice for a very special reason. My elder sister was an awesome dancer and, beyond my ballet classes, taught me everything I knew about dancing in the early 60’s. This song, that we both loved dancing to, was released several months prior to one of the highlights of her young life. At the time American Bandstand was televised live from Philadelphia and to be admitted to the show was a matter of either good timing or luck or “knowing the right people”. I’ll not reveal which it was for her on that particular day, but on that day in October of 1962 was when Chris Montez performed “Let’s Dance” on the show…and dance she did! Thank-you!

This is what we used to do the twist to at the Peppermint Twist Club a “nightclub” for teens at Virginia Beach.
