What a beautiful song. I too expected the Carpenters. That’s a lovely surprise. The song and her voice are a beautiful and perfect match to convey this touching message. Thank you very much for sharing, Colin.
Glad you enjoyed it Erika and, as I noted in an earlier comment, her “Unfinished Life” is quite remarkable … especially considering her health at that time.
Lyrics can have a deep meaning when you hear them but that meaning becomes even more weight when you know how they occured. I will check that song out, Colin. Thank you!
I am listening to it right now. Very moving indeed, Colin. It makes you think and radiates so much strength on a different level. Very interesting energy.
The whole situation reminded me of Freddy Mercury when he sang “The Show Must Go On” only shortly before he died, knowing about his condition. I cannot imagine either singing with such a strong heart… but maybe that is into whoyou are born when you go through the process…
If you are not familiar with Kate Wolf, you might want to Google her. She had a relatively short life, and her song “Unfinished Life” becomes very poignant.
This is quite lovely Colin. I hadn’t heard of her so looked her up. What a sad loss.

I cannot imagine having a terminal illness, knowing that it cannot be treated, and still writing songs.
