Happy New Year / Song of Peace

I know that many readers of this blog have interests outside of dogs, so I am going to take the liberty of using this post to simply wish everybody peace in the New Year. The late Mary Travers (of Peter, Paul & Mary) recorded this song in 1972 (Melody: Jean Sibelius/Finlandia; Lyrics :Lloyd Stone).

“Song of Peace”

This is my song
O gods of all the nations
A song of peace for lands so far away
This is my home, a country where my heart is
Here grew my hopes and dreams for all mankind
But other hearts in other lands are beating
With hopes and dreams as true and high as mine

My country’s skies are bluer than the ocean
And sunlight shines on clover leaf and pine
But other lands have sunlight too and clover
And skies are everywhere as blue as mine
O hear my prayer, O gods of all the nations
A song of peace for their lands and for mine

Happy New Year everybody.

    • Hi Cupcake. Nice to hear from you. Yes …. I know a lot about stealing food (taking it very secretively off plates is my specialty). I also know how to use my feet to hold and get into containers! Spending time as a stray certainly taught me some good survival skills, which often amuse (and amaze) by Mum and Dad! I am so good at it that they often seem to wonder whether I am the culprit when food disappears ……….. and there are only the three of us living here. I am that good! Woof! Ray!
