“Islands”

I cannot imagine what Bonnie Tyler must have run into as she pursued a career in singing. No doubt there were many negative influences as a result of her vocal tones, but she persevered and “Totally Eclipse of the Heart” is probably one of her most well known recordings.

She also “appeared” as a guest on Mike Oldfield’s album “Islands”. I love Mike Oldfield’s various albums, but suddenly hearing Bonnie Tyler singing the title track on “Islands” was an unexpected, and added, bonus! Enjoy!

  1. Mike Oldfield is another favorite of mine, particularly his “Ommadawn” album. Your choice of this Bonnie Tyler recording on his album “Islands” is a bonus indeed. Thank-you for sharing more of your music.

  2. Thinking of Bonnie Tyler brings back memories of when I was in High School. πŸ™‚ I remember listening to her song, Total Eclipse of the Heart so many times! I hadn’t heard this song before, but it is another very good one by her. Thanks for sharing it.

  3. I liked this song from the moment it was published. Bonnie Tyler must have had a beautiful voice. She worked hard for her career but that was what caused her nodules on her vocal cords. But that was actually what made her a star!

    • …….. a youngster (by a few years!). It is interesting that having had so many “baby boomers” singers/musicians in my life, that I have trouble accepting that they are now in their 60’s/70’s! I have no problem accepting my age but, for some reason, they are not expected to age! πŸ™‚
