To quote Monty Python .. “and now for something completely different”! I first heard “Whistling Rufus” when I was around 11 or 12 (mid/late 1950s) and my feet started tapping. They still start tapping whenever I hear it. It has to be a Traditional Jazz standard. Enjoy!
Fun! FUN! ‘m passing this on to a jazz trumpeter friend who actually whistles for part of his number– A young college senior son of friends who will surely whistle as he listens.

This isn’t completely different. I think I heard it on a cartoon soundtrack once before.

The “completely different” was in the context of my Saturday music posts. I refuse to resort to posting cartoons! 🙂

We’re in the middle of a snowstorm at the moment so a good foot-tapper is a necessary distractiion! 🙂

Not sure why I woke up early, but this is definitely an upbeat, foot tapping tune to help one wake up! 🙂

I don’t typically go out of my way for Jazz … but there are a few Trad Jazz numbers which stir me!

Have you listened to Norah Jones? She is a blues/ jazz singer that we have come to like.

Yes, but I am slowly adjusting to Jill Barber. Typically the jazz/blues area does little for me. I shall keep her in mind though. 🙂

Better than most jazz. Looking at Chris Barber I see he played with Acker Bilk–he kept good company.

Add in Kenny Ball and you have a great traditional jazz group! 🙂
