When I was in my late teens, one of the bands that made a huge impact on me was The Moody Blues. I loved that their albums had a theme woven throughout the tracks, and when I heard the “Question of Balance” album (released 1970), it struck many chords (no pun intended) about “my world” at that time.Β The songs generally covered the precarious peace that existed as a result of theΒ nuclear bomb posturing by both the USA and (then) USSR, and posed numerous questions about why were in that situation and where did we fit in as individuals. The tone of the album starts off with despair, but slowly progresses to hope (for a better future). The final track (link below) is “The Balance”, and is the perfect ending to a powerful album. Enjoy!

Loved the Moody Blues myself Colin and had all of their albums. Like you, I appreciated the theme running through each. The only one of that ilk I have now is Blue Jays by Justin Hayward and John Lodge on CD. Great music.

My ex husband slipped my engagement ring on my finger at the crescendo of the last track on side 1!

π Ahh! The Moody Blues, another band that I am familiar with.
This is a good song that stirs the mind. I am glad that it ends on a hopeful note.

The Moody Blues are my husband’s favorite band. He has seen them at least 20 times over the years. I’ve seen them often too and they never give a bad concert!

Totally agree (obviously) and, sadly, it still seems appropriate for today’s world.
