Those of you who were listening to music in the early 1970s will surely remember this Carpenters’ recording. You may also remember every note of the “fuzzed” guitar (courtesy of Tony Peluso), and will probably reflect on the premature departure of Karen Carpenter. Enjoy this “voice” from well over 40 years ago.

A sad loss. I loved their music.

Me too … and my daughter loved them also. She still remembers me listening to their songs, which was her introduction to them.

I’m caught between goodbye and I love you has bitter sweet memories for me, but I don’t think they ever released that as a single.

When memories and subsequent emotions are stirred, isn’t that the mark of an excellent song presented by an equally excellent performer? 🙂

Yes. Based on what was presented in the movie “The Karen Carpenter Story”, very sad indeed.

I was a little too young in the early 70’s to be listening to music, but I am familiar with Karen’s lovely voice! A very moving song, especially as you think about how she left this world too soon! Tissues may have been needed.
