Mark Knopfler is generally known as the front man/lead guitarist for Dire Straits, and for his fast fingering of the guitar. Few days ago, I found a new video at YouTube with Mark Knofler from a concert in August in Barcelona, Spain. He is now 70 years old and don’t go much more out for concerts now.
This video is worth using time for too.

Still comes as a shock though doesn’t it? We tend to remember celebrities from the peak of their career, and don’t allow for 30 years + later. 🙂

Yes, that is right. I was a little chocked, when I saw that new video, as Mark Knofler looked so much older. Then I came to think, that we all grow older, what ever we feel so or not 🙂

I think the difference may be that we see ourselves in the mirror probably daily, so see the aging process happening very gradually vs remembering Mark Knopfler from the 80’s where had hair etc., and suddenly seeing him much older. I saw a recent interview with Judith Durham (The Seekers) and was in shock as I remember her as being very cute. She is still lovely, but has all the signs of aging that the rest of us have! 🙂

This is the beautiful theme song from that long ago charming 1980’s movie “Local Hero”. I must find my old soundtrack album from that movie, it has been many many years ago that it was played. If memory serves me correctly, this was the first of numerous soundtrack albums by Knopfler. There are times when only instrumental music is needed and desired, this perfectly fits those times. I think those times occur more often for me these days, which is why I’ve become so fond of “The Piano Guys”. Excellent choice! Thank-you!
