This is Ray’s typical “telepathy” look. He is trying so hard to say something… but what? Thoughts?
My suggestions would be:
“Okay…. you’ve got your pic, now how about putting that camera away!” or perhaps
“Hey Dad…. any chance of food about now?”

Hi Lisa – My memory is not as sharp as it once was… but it would seem that you are a new Follower so welcome! When you have a few free moments, I hope you’ll come back; kick your shoes off; find some place comfortable; pretend you have a latte close by… and feel comfortable to explore this Blog. Ray was the reason the Blog was started and yes, he is a really smart fellow at times. At other times? We just think that his Rotti brain and his Shepherd body are having some dialogue problems! 🙂

Ray may show interest in a walk if it looks like leading to our downtown, or our local Pizza store… because treats (food) are generally forthcoming then.
He may show interest in play if he thinks treats (food) may be involved.
He may show interest in a ball if rewards (food) could be involved.
We are so pleased that we have been able to keep his weight in the 75lbs – 77lbs range all the time he has been here! 🙂

It’s hard work isn’t it , but keeping his weight heathy is good for you as well as him.
We have to keep Ruby at 28 Kilos 61lbs. Hard work with her big brown eyes. Luckily we have her trained to go to her bed when we eat. 😉☺️

Ray does much the same. He eats before us and then generally goes to his bed. Our biggest “thing” is cutting back on his regular meals when we know that training is imminent… which is most of the time because even when on a walk, he looks to us for the potential treat when he greets people and other dogs.

We don’t carry treats. We are so lucky with Ruby, being an ex guide dog she is excellently trained. But she is not above sitting with another dog who might be getting a treat and saying “they don’t feed me you know” 😱

Ray, being an ex-stray with a “one can only imagine” background is quite capable of giving out the same message… and other dog owners fall for it!

Yup! Nothing more gullible than a human being confronted with large dark brown doggy eyes! 🙂

He has turned and walked away from the camera occasionally… so you could be right! 🙂

Hi Michael. The “Woof!” is what happens next, if we haven’t read his mind correctly! 🙂

My caption would be ‘I’d better get paid for this,’ or ‘I told you I wanted to be alone!’
Whatever though, he is one handsome dog, and no doubt all sides are good sides when it comes to taking his picture. 🙂

He does seem to have many “good sides”. He turned and walked away once, and even his rear view looked good! 🙂
