A Snow Day!

We recently had our first significant snowfall of the winter. We totaled around 12”/30cm which, because of strong gusting winds, created some “interesting” snow drifts! Continue reading

Fetch – Round 2.

Those of you who read about my earlier totally futile and humiliating experiences of teaching Ray to “Fetch” (see Post “Ray … Fetch” November 26), may be interested to know that he has done it! Continue reading

Used dog!

Adopting a dog, as most of you would already know, opens up a whole additional aspect to your world. With Ray, our constant visits to the Oakville & Milton Humane Society and subsequent drawing from their expertise has been an education, and the contacts made invaluable. Continue reading

The Water Bowl!

We had a new store open near us this past summer and Ray immediately liked them. We stopped and looked for somebody who could conceivably be the owner, but there wasn’t anybody in sight. Continue reading

Runner Ray!

One long term goal, that I thought would be nice, was to have Ray as a running buddy. He was considered a “high energy” dog but his performance to date has been quite the opposite, and his claim to fame is more based on his ability to simply chill rather than any athletic performance! However, I do know that he is capable of running pretty fast, albeit for short periods of time, so getting him running would not appear to be a major challenge. Continue reading

Ewwwwwwwww! (Part 2)

Carol had a brilliant solution! Put my right hand into a spare poop bag, and then insert that into the mitt! This would keep my hands warm while protecting the mitt lining. Continue reading
