Participants in the Oakville & Milton Humane Society Mutt Strut this past weekend were given a toy! Here is Ray with his toy and, in true Ray tradition, he went crazy with it for about a minute!
He has played with it since, but again it was only for a very short time. Even a game of “Tug” with it was of no particular interest to him. He is different!
A New Direction Perhaps? 
Ray’s reaction reminds me of my children’s reaction to new toys when they were young. Thrilled with it for a short time, and then not nearly as interested!

My two were much the same, they would unpack a toy… and then have so much fun playing with the wrapping paper and box that it came in! 🙂

Hi Carol. He has been known to try and rip into the odd one but, in general, no. He is not your typical canine destroyer/mutilator! 🙂

He looks a little bemused. Does it squeak? Barney was given a squeaky leeky rubber toy which lasted seconds…………. the time it took to chew the end off so that it squeaked no more!

Ray does not seem to care whether toys squeak or not. Play time is always about 1 minute long!

At least he plays though. I find it so sad when a dog doesn’t know how to.

We rather suspect that the whole concept of play was not in his earlier life, and he is quite a long way from his puppy days now!
