The Mailbox Run!

We have a centralized mailbox system here which consists of cabinets each containing around 12 mail boxes. The cabinets are located within easy reach of the homes that they serve and, in our area, there were 4 cabinets installed just west and a little north of us. Continue reading

The G.C.E. “O” Level examinations were scheduled before the Summer holidays, with an option to re-take any subjects as necessary before the Christmas holidays. As I was not due to start College in Cardiff until January 1964, that would be very convenient if I had problems! Continue reading

Appleby College

We have a lovely, and apparently quite expensive, private school (Appleby College) relatively close to our home. We can walk there in less than 30 minutes and, due to it having trails which go through “natural” areas as well as down to the lake, and being available to the public, we often take Ray there. He has always liked trail walks and just loves going to the lake. Continue reading

Affection or aggression?

One of Ray’s obvious issues, which became clear soon after he settled in here in March 2013, was his dependence on our company. He exhibited severe separation anxiety. Continue reading

We had some time in Vienna where, although the Danube was disappointing (no romantic blues in that river!), the architecture, even to a 15 year old, was impressive. We also had a trip into Salzburg which again, was lovely by virtue of its architectural history. Continue reading
