In March of last year, we were advised that Ray’s final blood test confirmed his treatment for Heart-worm (the previous summer) had been successful, which meant that there was no evidence of any microscopic “babes” in his system. Continue reading

The Black Shopping Bag!
We have a number of black shopping bags. They are reusable so we not only do not have to pay for plastic shopping bags, but we feel that we are “doing a little” to reduce land fill waste. Of course, anything made of plastic has its origins in the oil industry which is not at the top of my list of environmentally responsible industries anyway! Continue reading
Who am I?
Some time ago now, I wrote a Post * which covered a number of circumstances where people demonstrate that, while they are clearly very interested in learning about any dog they meet, they display little or no interest in the dog’s owner! They ask questions about the dog, but don’t even ask the owner’s name. Many people know Ray’s name , but I am just “Ray’s Dad” …. if I have a name at all! Continue reading
Sometimes …..
Sometimes when we sit down for dinner (usually on the sofa so we can catch the 6:00pm CTV News), Ray will climb up onto the matching chair, curl up, and just watch us. Continue reading
Raider of the Lost (P)ark?
Last summer on a particularly hot and humid day, Ray decided that he wanted to take me to OMHS* to visit his friends there however, for reasons only known to him, the route was via downtown Oakville. Continue reading
The Oakville Beaver
During the summer months of 2013, Ray spent a lot of time lounging around in the garden and, on one occasion, we felt sorry for him (he was under forced rest conditions) and offered him an Oakville Beaver newspaper. Given that its focus is the Town of Oakville, its scope of news is obviously quite limited ……….. but what does Ray know about such things? Continue reading
Yesterday!
March 15, 2013 was the day that our beloved Ray came home with us. To be honest, he was not particularly beloved at that time, but rather just a dog that we had grown attached to and wanted to give him a second chance. Continue reading
Uh oh! Lululemon!
Regular readers will know that one of Ray’s favorite places to visit is our downtown Lululemon store. (Searching this site for Lululemon will produce many results!) Continue reading
Praise the lowly Rutabaga!
When Ray moved in with us, the outlines of his ribs were visible if we looked hard. That is not to say that he had not been treated well by OMHS*, but more likely at least partially the result of his anxiety issues. Continue reading
Who would have known……
As a child, I was brought up in a home that had classical music playing when Dad was around. Not surprisingly, I eventually became quite fond of certain pieces. Continue reading
